QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS and DESIRED ATTRIBUTES:



 



1. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.



2. Eligible for Maryland State Board of Education professional certificate in at least one of the following areas: Early Childhood Education (PreK-3), Elementary Education (Grades 1-6), Middle School (Grades 4-9), or Specialty Area (k-12)



3. Extremely ambitious and willing to be a team player.



4. Passionate teacher with strong content area knowledge and instructional practice.

The Office of Disability Affairs has two immediate openings for Sign Language Interpreters to provide enabling solutions for persons with Disabilities.

In this role you will plan, organize, and implement American Sign Language (ASL) interpreting services; interpret complex subject matter in a variety of classified, highly technical, sensitive and unique situations from polygraphs, high profile platform interpreting and highly technical transliterations to training and informational discussions for various disciplines and personnel to include Engineers, Mathematicians and Computer Scientists.

Acts as Learning Management System (LMS) expert in the domain and recommends specific technologies that might enhance the learning experience
Functions as 'test pilot' to evaluate and improve course content with an eye toward student experience and sound instructional design standards.
Reviews reading resources, media and assignments to assure alignment with learning objectives.
Participates in the writing of online course content focusing on the student experience with consistent Laureate voice and style.
Assures writing is coherent, the directions are clear and the "voice" is consistent.
Creates course in LMS and refines assignments to fit accordingly.
Assures all components including links, gradebook, directions, syllabus, schedule, rubrics and announcements are complete and uploaded into course.
QA's the course in collaboration with Course Developer.
Provides oversight of the quality of work performed by external vendors.
The Instructional Designer consults with Course Developer throughout the process regarding any recommended changes to course content.

Junior Systems Engineer

The Office of Technology Services (OTS) is committed to providing the highest quality support for communications and computing to facilitate student success, lifelong learning, teaching and the business processes of Towson University.

OTS is currently accepting applications for an energetic, self-starting, professional Junior Systems Engineer to work with and at the direction of the Server & Core Engineering (SCE) Lead Engineers. This position is responsible for installing, monitoring and administrating all aspects of the university’s enterprise hardware and core services within the responsibilities of the SCE Group. The Junior Systems Engineer will have responsibilities within all enterprise and departmental computing systems and services; assist Senior Engineers with daily administrative duties including monitoring health of systems, performing upgrades, and responding to service interruption and tuning needs; and developing service and system enhancements.

Responsibilities: Include but not limited to being responsible for special projects as assigned; contributing to development of Windows and UNIX server standards, software and hardware installation and configuration guidelines, server security and maintenance procedures, and documentation of standards and guidelines; serving as consultant for technology personnel; providing management with information related to upgrade proposals, risk analysis reports, budget items, statistics, growth forecasting, and recovery plans.

Requirements: A combination of 4 years of education and/or experience; customer service orientation; technical ability; and ability to work some after-hour emergency hours and weekend scheduled hours. A Criminal Background Investigation is required for the hired candidate and the results may impact employment.
