Responsibilities of the position:

Works with others in the configuration and administration of Serena products, the corporate standard distributed systems configuration management (CM) tool suite. Works closely with the Change Control Team to enforce CM and change management policies, rules, and processes.

Document and improve standard configuration management processes and procedures to include: version control, build and release management, CM audit reports, configuration identification and control, software product baselines, change management, and reporting in a controlled CM environment. May chair various process improvement teams. May also facilitate Change Control Boards (CCBs) and/or CM team status meetings. Participation in software process improvement efforts to build awareness of CM purpose and practice is also required. Additional tasks as assigned may be required.

Secondary responsibilities include supporting development projects software build management, development of build scripts, VB or Java scripting and tailoring of the Serena build and code installation functionality to meet the needs of Release Management Team. When requested duties include assisting in project change control activities, such as participation in projects change control boards and performing CM audits. When appropriate will perform or participate in manual or semi-automated deployments of code to various CareFirst distributed environments

Is familiar with industry best practices in the Software Configuration Management discipline.

This position is also subject to being "on call" for emergency situations requiring immediate resolution. Travel between all CareFirst locations may be required.

Responsible for coding, testing and analyzing 2-tier, 3-tier, or N-tier client/server applications. Supports existing business systems applications.
